The Lawyer Centric Mortgage Affiliate Program has been specifically designed to eliminate sources of conflict arising from the lawyer providing mortgage origination services. However, it is incumbent upon the lawyer to comply with the Law Society of Upper Canada's Rules of Professional Conduct.

It is important to note that the Rules specifically contemplate lawyers arranging mortgages and providing services through affiliates such as LCSI. These activities trigger a duty to disclose to the client the lawyer's receipt of third party remuneration for services rendered.
